Overview
The client commissioned an animated short film to propose to his long-distance partner in a meaningful and unforgettable way. The story spans their 12-year relationship, inspired by a promise he once made as a child: that one day he would marry her and give her a real diamond ring. The animation was designed to visually retell their journey, culminating in a surprise theater proposal with emotional depth and cinematic flair.

Process
• Conducted multiple in-depth interviews with the client to gather personal stories and shape the emotional narrative.
• Reconstructed real-life settings (schools, date spots) based on the couple’s old photos.
• Created symbolic scenes, including the childhood moment where the boy gives her a candy ring and rose while wearing sunglasses.
• Incorporated actual text messages with authentic tone and emojis.
• Developed a Disney-inspired visual style to reflect the girlfriend’s love for classic animation.
• Designed the film for theater screening, complete with a 10-second countdown and cinematic pacing for maximum emotional impact.
Outcome/Results
The animated film was screened under the pretense of a regular movie, surprising the girlfriend and moving her to tears. The proposal scene—with the real diamond ring—fulfilled the childhood promise in front of a live audience, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.
